Alim Ringgold is an artist engaging with ceramics, sound, moving image, and sculptural installation.Their work makes an attempt at dissolving perceived boundaries between our physical, spiritual, and emotional realities. Alim uses their mediums as tools for giving form to the ineffable, constructing personal mythologies and objects of curiosity based on an internal geography made necessary by ancestral histories of exclusion, abduction, and subjugation. Under the moniker Neolith, they have performed their noise project and shown work around numerous venues in the Portland metro area, namely Well Well Projects, XCHURCH, Virtua Gallery, Megalith, Portland Arts Collective, ILY 2 Too, Gallery 114, Blue Butler Studios, and the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center.
